New Mexico Motorcycle Helmet Law

Under New Mexico law, only those motorcycle operators and riders under 18 are required to wear a helmet. Those subject to the law must wear helmets that are securely fastened and that meet the standards specified by New Mexico's Director of Transportation. Because these standards are subject to change, you should check with the Director before taking to the open road in New Mexico.
